Around 1931, Fats Waller starts to compose seriously for the piano a series of tunes which will be record later in 1934. Amoug them, Clothesline Ballet seems to be apart from the repertory of the pianist : played mainly in “rubato”, one is far from the usual rhythmic pieces.
