Numb Fumblin', one of Fats’ masterpieces, is a major piece of stride and jazz piano. Recorded in 1929, this very bright and humorous « wallerian » blues stands out from the blues style of this time. The cascades int he last verse are a prefiguration of the Art Tatum style.
